Fleet Dispatcher / Router Responsibilities
Plan and optimize routes for drivers to maximize efficiency and reduce fuel costs
Dispatch drivers in a timely manner and communicate daily schedules, ensuring all deliveries are assigned and completed
Monitor fleet locations using GPS tracking systems to ensure on-time deliveries and adjust routes when necessary
Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers during shifts, providing them with up-to-date information on traffic, road conditions, and any changes in delivery instructions
Maintain clear communication with customers regarding delivery status and resolve any delivery-related issues or delays promptly
Coordinate with warehouse and operations teams to ensure load accuracy and timely shipments
Fleet & Driver Management:
Track driver hours, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, including hours of service and other legal driving limits
Monitor driver performance, addressing issues as they arise, and escalating problems to management when necessary
Assist in ensuring fleet maintenance is scheduled and vehicles are in good working condition before dispatching
Maintain accurate records of routes, deliveries, fuel consumption, and driver logs
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on fleet performance, including metrics like on-time delivery rates, fuel efficiency, and driver hours
Analyze data to identify areas for improvement in dispatch and routing efficiency
Perform other duties as assigned
Technology: Proficiency in using dispatch software, GPS tracking systems, and MS Office Suite especially Excel)
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to multitask and stay organized under pressure
Problem-Solving: Ability to think quickly and make decisions in real-time to solve logistical challenges
Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate dispatching, routing, and documentation

Our company is seeking a Fleet Dispatcher / Router for our Tampa, FL facility that Outside Sales Representative who will be responsible for ensuring efficient route planning, driver dispatching, and optimizing fleet utilization.
